The Franceschi family transforms the stronghold into a villa. It also belonged to Antonio Cocchi—physician, writer, and curator of Tuscany's museums.
1872 · A painter's home
Portraitist Michele Gordigiani buys Striano and reimagines it with architect Del Moro under the Renaissance influence of Buontalenti.
Belle Époque · Music & muses
Gordigiani's daughter Giulietta welcomes poet Gabriele D'Annunzio and actress Eleonora Duse for long summer days at the villa.
